John Mendez Valdez

John M. Valdez, 90 of Alvarado, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 28, 2022. He was born in Branchville, Texas on May 19, 1931, to Antonio and Eluteria (Mendez) Valdez. John was married to Nicolasa Garcia on April 17, 1955, in Lubbock, Texas. He worked as a custodian for the First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie. John was a member of the Assemblies of God Christian Church and had a passion for wood working including making birdhouses and birdfeeders. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 66 years, Nicolasa; siblings, Tony Valdez, George Valdez, Ruben Valdez and Connie Valdez Ramirez. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, John Valdez (wife: Beth); Mary Gomez (husband: Lupe); Danny Valdez (wife: Kathy); Gilbert Valdez (wife: Renee); Phillip Valdez; Norma Valdez; Ernest Valdez (wife: Paula); and Tommy Valdez (wife: Patty); brothers, Domingo and Joe Valdez; grandchildren, Tiffany Moran, Nick Valdez, Joe Valdez, Noah Valdez, Tina Ledesma, Veronica Gomez, Daniel Valdez, Manuel Valdez, Sarah Vargas, Gabriel Cain, Joshua Cain, Anthony Valdez, Nic Valdez, Tanya Marie Ann Valdez, Christina Gomez, Rosalinda Esquibel, Megan Standridge, Mark Valdez, Benjamin Valdez, Zachary Valdez, Thomas Valdez and Gabrielle Valdez, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
