Nira Joy McCullough

August 15, 1933 - January 25, 2022

Nira Joy Bailey McCullough, age 88, passed away Tuesday morning, January 25, 2022, in Mansfield, TX. Joy was born August 15, 1933, in Naples, TX to Ima Moore and Horace Virgil Parton. She married Charles Vincent Bailey on February 25, 1953 and Billy McCullough in 1981. Joy and Charles had a son, Charles Vincent Bailey Jr. and a daughter, Ima Lynnette Bailey. Joy worked outside the home after her children were in school in the office workplace. She and her first husband, Charles, moved and traveled many places due to him serving in the United States Marine Corp. This provided Joy with many life experiences and appreciation for military service as a military spouse. Her children, Charles and Lynnette, grew up on military bases and got to experience different cultures and customs. Later, with her second husband, Billy, she retired from the workplace to enjoy farm life. After the death of her second husband, she relocated to Mansfield, TX where she has lived for the last 22 years to be near her daughter, Lynnette. Joy is survived by her daughter, Ima Lynnette Bailey; her granddaughters, Kendall and husband Justin Harrison; Kelsey and husband Kallen Collier; her great-grandchildren, Ryder, Reece, Kylee and Klaire; her sister, Anne Sibernagle; and by her daughter-in-law, Ramona Bailey. Joy was preceded in death by her son, Charles Vincent Bailey Jr.; her first husband, Charles Vincent Bailey, her second husband, Billy McCullough; and many brothers and sisters. A graveside service celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Friday, January 28, 2022, at Little Bethel Cemetery in Duncanville, Texas. Arrangements have been entrusted to Blessing Funeral Home in Mansfield, Texas. Thank You The family would like to thank you for your prayers and support during this time. Your shared memories, comforting condolences, and gestures of love are truly appreciated. “For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:6-8 In honor of Joy’s life, donations can be made to “Richard Calhoun Big Hearts for Little Hearts” Scholarship Fund at Lakeside Church of Christ
