In Loving Memory of Benjamin Saunders

Benjamin Saunders, beloved husband, father, son, brother, nephew and friend, passed away on July 7, 2025, at the age of 47.

Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Ben spent his summers on the shores of Pigeon Lake, Alberta where he developed a lifelong love for the outdoors. His school years were spent on Prince Edward Island. After high school, Ben headed out west, to Alberta, to begin his career in the oilfield. He later made his home in Maumelle, Arkansas before settling in Fort Worth, Texas, where he built a life rooted in family, friendship, and hard work.

Ben is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Saunders and Yolaine Stephens.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Gereline Saunders, and their cherished sons, Tripp and Miles. He is also survived by his brothers, Fred Saunders (Julie), Jon Saunders (Kerrie); stepfather, Roger Stephens, stepbrothers, Derek Stephens and Graham Stephens (Danna), stepsister, Heather Mis (Dominick); stepmother, Rita Kennedy and stepbrother, Bobby Kennedy (Shannon). Ben’s life was richly blessed by the love of his extended family, including special cousins Caitlin Ramsey, Courtney Holsapple, and Skylar Mitchell—and his nieces and nephews whom he absolutely adored; Sara Evans Saunders (Keven), Meghan and Jacob Saunders, Cole (Kaylee) and Janae Saunders, Amelia and Charlotte Mis, Cassidy Stephens and Ava Kennedy.

He shared deep bonds with Will and Heather Anderson, Tayton Finley, Rickey and Nelda Lindsey, Cass Mattison, Jody Solansky, and the rest of his Trinity Oil Field family—his chosen brothers and sisters on and off the job site.

Ben will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, quick wit, deep loyalty, his love of hockey, and the love he poured into every relationship he built.

A celebration of Ben’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Oilfield Helping Hands, an organization close to Ben’s heart.

Deliveries may be sent to: 211 Spruce Valley Dr, Justin, TX
