Mansfield, Texas
Billy Bob Littleton, 91, passed away peacefully at home, February 22, 2023. Billy (Bill) was born August 25, 1931 in Kaufman County, near Terrell, Texas to Buell Benton Littleton and Myrtice Marie Dorsey Littleton.

He attended Hillsboro High School and his first real job was behind an ice truck, delivering chunks of ice to customer’s doors. Bill started work as an apprentice pipe fitter in 1951 installing fire protection sprinkler systems. In 1952 he joined the union, Road Sprinkler Fitters Local Union No. 669. In May of 1953 he met his future wife, Trudy Inez Burdette. He famously told her, “Stick with me, you’ll be wearing diamonds.” She did, and she was! They married on February 7, 1954, and thus began a life of travel and adventure. Pulling a trailer behind him, Bill traveled all over Texas and Oklahoma, to work, and Inez was right beside him, every step of the way. Their first child arrived in 1955, JoJo the Cocker Spaniel, and they continued to travel. Their first human child, Sherri Lynn, was born in January of 1962, and they continued to travel. In February of 1964, they welcomed a son, Monte Brian, and they kept on traveling. They continued to travel until the day before Sherri started first grade. That was the day they parked the trailer on their five acres of heavily wooded, little slice of heaven in Mansfield, Texas.

In 1972 Bill and Inez built their “forever home” without wheels, and they have lived there ever since. In September 1979, Bill was elected Business Agent of District 5, Northern Texas, and he held that post until he retired in September of 1992. Bill and Inez went on to travel to all 50 states, some of them more than once. Their travels extended to Canada, England, Ireland, Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. On February 7, of this year, they celebrated their 69th Wedding Anniversary.

Billy B Littleton was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Dorothy Jean Morton, Wanda Louise Thompson and brother Jerry Keith Littleton.

Bill is survived by his wife Trudy Inez Littleton, his daughter, Sherri Lynn Cox, son, Monte Brian Littleton and wife, Pamela Ann, his beloved grandchildren, Olivia Ann Miller, Robert Devin Cox, Cameron Blaine Cox, Theresa Jo Anderson, Tihesa Ann Anderson and great grandson Ayden Lee Berry, as well as a plethora of nieces, nephews and “greats”.
