Cathy Lee Blood, a beloved member of the community and cherished family member, passed away on July 5, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on December 10, 1956, in Fort Worth, Texas, Cathy lived a life filled with passion, dedication, and creativity.

Cathy graduated from LD Bell High School in 1975 and continued her education at Tarrant County Junior College, where she earned an Associate of Arts Degree in 1988. She then pursued her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas in Arlington, which she obtained in 1993. After high school, Cathy began her career with the North Richland Hills Police Department as a clerk, showcasing her commitment to public service. She later received her teaching certification and devoted her time to educating young minds from 1993 to 1997.

Her professional journey took her to GTE, which later became Verizon, where she spent many years working in Training and Project Management before retiring in 2006. With a robust work ethic, Cathy exemplified the qualities of diligence and professionalism throughout her career.

On October 17, 1998, she married Gerald W. Blood, forming a lifelong partnership characterized by love and mutual respect. Together, they shared a wealth of experiences and adventures, including Cathy's passions for scuba diving—where she became a certified open water diver, as well as hiking and kayaking. Her creative spirit was reflected in her love for art; she was an active artist who enjoyed watercolor painting, ceramics, and various crafts.

Cathy is survived by her loving husband, Gerald W. Blood; her brother, Alan Stockard; and twin sister, Cindy Hiller; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who will all miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard and Estelle Huse; her mother, Jackie Beavers; and her father, Nolan Ray Stockard.
