Diane Powers, age 70, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on October 26, 2025. She was born on July 21, 1955, in Louisville, Kentucky to the loving parents Glenda and Chester Mitchell. Diane dedicated her life to caring for others and found deep joy in her faith, love of Jesus, and her community involvement.
A beloved member of her family, Diane adored spending time with those she cherished. She was a loving wife to David Cook, and together they forged a beautiful life filled with shared passions such as canning, gardening, and the care of their beloved pets. Diane took great pleasure in cultivating her flower gardens and was known for her nurturing spirit toward both plants and animals alike.
Throughout her life, Diane’s compassion was a consistent hallmark. Her commitment to family and friends spanned over 26 years, marking her as a profoundly loving and caring person who always put others first.
Diane's legacy lives on through her son, Scott Mitchell, and his wife, Christie Mitchell. She was also a proud grandmother to Katie Mitchell, Tyler Mitchell, Logan Mitchell, Austin Mitchell, McKenzie Mitchell, and Madeline Mitchell. In addition, she looked forward to welcoming 10 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
Diane joins in heaven her husband: David Cook; her parents: Chester and Glenda Mitchell, and her sister: Marilyn Carter.
She will be missed by her loving family, which includes her nieces Autumn Mitchell and Jessica Boone; her nephews James Jackson, Matt Mitchell, Mark Mitchell, and Cody Mitchell, as well as her brothers Steve and Tony.
Diane Powers will always be remembered for her unwavering love, infectious joy, and a spirit that touched everyone around her. The impact she had on the lives of so many will forever remain in their hearts.
A celebration of her life will be held on November 1, 2025, at 10:30 AM at 401 Elm St, Mansfield, TX. Visitation will take place on October 31, 2025, from 4 PM to 6 PM at the same location. She will be laid to rest at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Arlington, TX, following a burial service at 12:30 PM on November 1, 2025.
