Dora Imelda Clendenen passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. Born on September 11, 1959, in Cananea, Sonora, Mexico, Dora’s life was woven with deep family ties, quiet strength, and a dedication to those she cherished.
Dora’s journey began in the vibrant surroundings of her birthplace, Cananea, where she was born to Francisco Rubio Armenta and Maria Auxiladora Armenta. In 1962, she moved to East Los Angeles, moving after to Santa Fe Springs in 1969, where she spent her formative years. Dora attended Santa Fe High School and was involved in the school's drama club. After high school, in 1977, she began attending Rio Hondo College and received her Licensed Vocational Nurse Degree on November 21, 1980. Her degree took her first to Whittier Presbyterian Hospital. After her time at Whittier, she spent 10 years working at General Hospital in Los Angeles, right before she moved to Redding, California. In Redding, she worked at Mercy Hospital along with Canyon Wood. In 2009, Dora left California for good and relocated to Texas, where she spent the remainder of her life.
Dora enjoyed many of life's simplicities, such as cooking, gardening and watching scary movies with her family. She could also often be found enjoying an ice cold beer, her favorite drink for any occasion. Dora had a one-of-a-kind, hysterical laugh, one that anybody who knew her could recognize. It was so contagious, and inspired laughter in those around her.
Her legacy lives on through her beloved family. Dora is survived by her mother, Maria Auxiladora; children, son Calvin Clendenen and partner Keeley Walker, daughter Bridget Clendenen and partner Jeremy Story, son Zachary Clendenen, daughter Chloe Clendenen and partner Jaime Sandoval, and two grandsons, Cameron and Jeremy. She also leaves behind four siblings; sister Maria Emami and spouse Mehrdad, brother Francisco Armenta and spouse Argelia, brother Hector Armenta and spouse Carol, and sister Angelica Juarez and spouse Mark. Left behind to mourn also are numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. Their lives are a testament to the love and care Dora poured into her family, instilling in them the values that defined her own life.
She now joins her late father and sister, Francisco Rubio Armenta and Marisela Armenta, in eternal rest. The memory of their guidance and affection continued to anchor Dora through every moment of her life.
Dora’s presence will be profoundly missed by those who had the privilege to know her. Her warmth, steadfast spirit, and nurturing heart made a difference in many lives, and her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration.
