The morning of Thursday, March 20, 2020 Elgin Meinke left us, took the hand of Jesus, and went home to be with his mom and dad at the age of 74.
Elgin was born November 9, 1945 in Hollis, Oklahoma to Hamon James and Millie Tanksley Meinke, the 6th of seven children.
Elgin loved his Lord, his family, his church family and Elvis, in that order!
He never married or had children so brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews was very dear to his heart.
After his move to Texas in 2004 to be with his sister Edna and her husband Tim, he became a member of Cornerstone Community Church which later became Resurrection Church.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Pat Meinke, his sister and brother-in-law, Edna Fay Meinke and Paul (Tim) Ramsey. Nephews, Daniel and Adam Meinke, Tim, Dale and Troy Byrd, and Shawn Ramsey; Nieces Kimberly Meinke, Edna Byrd Ivey, and Hallie Ramsey and numerous great-nieces and nephews and great-greats.
Elgin was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Troy, Roy, and Henry and his sister Etta Mae, and his nephews James and Robert.
