George Winfred Parks Sr.

July 25, 1938 — May 18, 2025

Lillian

George Winfred Parks Sr., born on July 25, 1938, in Lillian, Texas, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on May 18, 2025. He lived a full life dedicated to his family, career, church, and passions that brought him joy.

George graduated from Palestine High School, after which he ventured out in life and put in hard work becoming a Plant Manager for several different companies. His professional journey reflected both his commitment to excellence and his ability to lead and inspire those around him. George was also a patriotic man and a believer in those that protect and serve our country and communities. In His early years he would volunteer at the Johnson County Sherriff Department to help any way he could.

His service to the Lord was priority, serving a long time as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, interim choir leader and after retirement he then was a part of Campers on Missions with his wife.

On September 19, 1957, George married the love of his life, Carolyn Whitehead, in Alvarado, Texas. This union was the cornerstone of his life, resulting in a loving family that he cherished deeply. George is survived by his devoted wife Carolyn Parks, his son George Parks Jr. and his wife LouAnn, as well as his daughter Dianna Ford and her husband Douglas. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Jennifer Luna and husband Roy, Stephen Ford, Brian Parks and wife Gloria, and Nicole Benavides and husband Isaac. He was blessed with 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Each of them carries forward the values and love their grandfather instilled in them.

George's love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies and interests, which included golf, softball, camping, and fishing. These pastimes not only enriched his life but also created lasting memories with family and friends that will be cherished forever.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John William Parks and Verna Mae Parks, and brother, John William Parks, Jr. The absence of his loved ones is felt deeply, yet their memories live on in the hearts of those who survive him.

A visitation will be held on May 24, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at 401 Elm St, Mansfield, TX, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM, also at the same location. A graveside service will take place at 4:00 PM.

George Winfred Parks Sr. leaves behind a beautiful legacy, filled with love, laughter, and the indelible mark of a life well-lived. He will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew him.
