Gloria Jeanne Shreve, born on October 18, 1928, in Abilene, Kansas, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, in Mansfield, Texas. She was 97 years old at the time of her passing and is survived by her loving family. Gloria exemplified kindness and strength throughout her life, leaving behind cherished memories that will be celebrated by those who knew her.

Gloria was a woman who embraced life with a spirited, sometimes silly, humor. She possessed a strong will and an impressively intuitive nature that guided her daily decisions and interactions. Gloria took pride in her appearance, never leaving the house without looking her best. Her family was her joy, and she loved them fiercely.

Gloria was a woman of faith and was a member of First Methodist Church of Mansfield.  She had a long meaningful career as Lead Buyer with the Menninger Foundation until she retired in 1993.  In 2000 Gloria set out on another adventure and moved to Texas to be closer to her family. Among her many interests, Gloria enjoyed shopping, often spending hours exploring the aisles of local CVS or Tom Thumb, discovering little treasures. She had a passion for travel and new adventures, and she never tired of immersing herself in the beauty of the world. Furthermore, she was a talented painter whose creativity illuminated the lives of those around her. Gloria authored a book titled "My Story," which chronicled her rich and fulfilling life, sharing her experiences and insights in a reflective and heartfelt manner.

Gloria is survived by her daughter, Christie Mitchell, and her husband, Mark; her son, Mike Shreve, and his wife, Devona; along with her beloved grandchildren, Jessica Mitchell and Brandon Shreve. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Shreve; her parents, Verda and Edward Crane.

Her family will honor her memory at a funeral service on November 10, 2025, at 1:00 PM, located at 401 Elm St, Mansfield, TX. Following this, friends and family will gather for a graveside service on November 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th St, Topeka, KS.

Gloria Jeanne Shreve will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege to know her. Her legacy of love, resilience, and creativity will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
