Gwynne Ellen Hatton, affectionately known as "Nene" to her family and "Bubbles" to her beloved grandniece Lexi, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, in Mansfield, Texas. Born on March 2, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas, Gwynne was a radiant presence whose life was dedicated to serving others, both as an educator and as a caregiver for her family.
Gwynne's educational career spanned over 20 years, where she began as a teacher at a private school before dedicating herself to special education in Venus, Texas. Her commitment to helping children reach their potential was evident in every classroom she entered, touching the lives of many with her patience and kindness. After her teaching career, she embraced her role as a caregiver, where her nurturing spirit truly shone through as she provided loving care for the elderly in her family.
On February 9, 1975, Gwynne married her beloved husband, Stephen Hatton, in Mansfield, Texas. Their marriage was a testament to love and partnership, marked by shared values and a deep commitment to family. Together, they raised their children and created a home filled with laughter, love, and the cherished memories of family vacations and traditions.
Gwynne was a proud mother to Laura Hatton, balancing her professional commitments with her passion for family. She was also a devoted sister to Jonann Grubbs and a loving brother to Richard Roberts, maintaining close bonds with her siblings throughout her life.
As a strong Christian woman, Gwynne's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She exemplified what it meant to be a great wife, mother, and aunt, inspiring those around her with her unwavering devotion to her family. Her love for Disney, Hallmark movies, and Christmas films showcased her spirited personality. Gwynne took joy in family vacations, especially trips to Scarborough Fair and San Antonio, creating treasured memories that will last a lifetime.
Gwynne is preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Hatton, and her son, Josh Hatton; they are remembered lovingly and will always hold a special place in the hearts of her family.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life during visitation on May 30, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at 401 Elm St, Mansfield, TX. A funeral service will follow on May 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at the same location, leading into a graveside service at Mansfield Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
Gwynne Ellen Hatton will be profoundly missed. Her legacy of love, strength, and devotion lives on in her family and all whose lives she touched.
