It is with a heavy heart and a spirit of reverence that we share the passing of James Edward "Jim Ed" Roberson, 82, of Arlington, Texas. James went peacefully to be with the Lord on June 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on November 19, 1943, to Louise Jones Roberson in Roderfield, West Virginia, James led a life marked by service, hard work, and a deep love for his family. A proud veteran, he served in the United States Navy as a jet engine mechanic aboard the USS Independence and the USS Shangri-la. Following his service, his career journey took him from General Dynamics to the restaurant business, and finally to a long-haul driving profession that took him across the continental United States and Canada. He retired from True Value in 1999.
James was a man of many passions, from working on his 1968 Oldsmobile 442 to riding his Honda Gold Wing. He found peace in his garden, sowing seeds that attracted the hummingbirds he so loved. Above all, he cherished his role as a mentor to his grandchildren, teaching them independence through lessons on golf, driving, and even the mechanics of jet engines.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Dianne Stubbs Roberson; his children, Bradley (Shell) Roberson and Leslie Roberson Elmore; his grandchildren, Cole, Kylie, and Courtney Elmore; his great-great-grandson, Mateo Daniel Ramirez; and his brother, Richard (Janis) Roberson, along with many beloved nephews and extended family members.
We ask that you keep the Roberson family in your thoughts and prayers during this time of transition.
