Janet Carrol Cain

July 3, 1949 — October 7, 2026

Janet Carrol (Hull) Cain, 77, of Yantis, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, joining her beloved husband, A.T., in their heavenly home. A loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, Janet's greatest joy was her family, especially her cherished grandchildren.

Janet was born in Atoka, Oklahoma, on July 3, 1949, to Glynda and Curtis Hull. She moved to Smithfield as a young child and lived the majority of her life in Northeast Tarrant County. She graduated from Richland High School in 1967 and married the love of her life, A.T. Cain, on March 17, 1967, and they enjoyed 59 years together.

Some of Janet’s favorite memories were spending weekends with her dad at his Oklahoma ranch, where she enjoyed the outdoors. She also had fond memories of the time she and A.T. spent in Maryland while he was in the Army. When A.T. went to Vietnam, she returned home to Tarrant County and began her family and career.

Janet enjoyed a long career in financial bookkeeping, with her final position being the Financial Secretary at First Baptist Church of Keller, where she faithfully served for more than 20 years. Upon her retirement in 2014, Janet and A.T. settled at their property in Yantis, Texas.

Janet was a devoted Christ follower who attended First Baptist Church of Smithfield and then the First Baptist Church of Keller. Upon retirement, she went to church in both Sulfur Springs and Yantis, where she enjoyed the fellowship of friends in her Sunday School classes.

Family was at the heart of Janet’s world. She cherished her grandchildren from the moment they were born and took great joy in being part of their lives. Her home was filled with family photos, and her door was always open to those she loved. Janet also found happiness in gardening and cooking, especially when preparing holiday meals that brought family together. Many of her treasured recipes continue to be enjoyed by the family today.

She is survived by her two children: David (Kay) and Clayton (Kathy); five grandchildren: Mason (Lila), Austin (Cameron), Walker, Huston, and Addison. She will be interred alongside A.T. on October, 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Dallas–Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
