Jennifer Susan Blackburn, born on February 16, 1972, in Superior, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025. Leaving behind an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her, Jennifer was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.

Married to the love of her life, Charles Blackburn, on May 6, 1995, Jennifer dedicated her life to her family, running her household with a busy and energetic spirit. As a loving matriarch, she was known for her organization and care for her loved ones. Her family was of utmost importance to her, and she took great joy in sharing her life experiences with them.

Jennifer had a passion for various hobbies that brought her immense joy. She was a remarkable cook, famously known for her mashed potatoes, a dish cherished by her family and friends. She had a fascination with watching cargo boats on her laptop, impressively able to identify the boats by the sound of their horns. Her adventurous spirit was evident in her enjoyment of geocaching, as well as her love for reading horror and fantasy books, which provided her with countless hours of enjoyment.

Jennifer was surrounded by a loving family at the time of her passing. She is survived by her husband, Charles Blackburn; daughters Kendra Blackburn and her husband David Cadenhead, Kimberly Blackburn, and Kayla Blackburn; father Dennis Makela and step mother Marlene; mother Linda Sillanpaa; sister Mary Malicoat and her husband Jason; brother Robert Makela; her beloved Beagle, Biscuit; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her cherished daughter, Rebecca Blackburn; step father, Jim Sillanpaa; and her grandparents, Kenny and Ellen Makela, as well as her faithful Beagle, Harley.

Jennifer’s legacy as a caring, family-oriented individual will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched. She leaves behind memories filled with warmth, laughter, and love that will continue to inspire her family and friends for years to come.
