Jimmie Allen Bell, 84 of Arlington, Texas, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024. He
was born in Cottonwood, New Mexico on August 31, 1939.
Jimmie was married to Linda Miller on July 3, 1980, in Arlington, Texas. Jimmie served
in the Navy from 1956 until 1960. After his service, he became a machinist and owned
his own business, Lanis Machines, until he retired in 2012. He was a faithful member of
St. Barnabas Methodist Church. For 20+ years Jimmie was active with the Boy Scouts
of America. Serving as Scout Master, he led countless teenaged boys on adventures
throughout Texas. Jimmie loved his backyard garden, where he grew a variety of
flowers and vegetables. He never met a pepper he didn’t like, and was proudly growing
a new breed, the Trinidad Scorpion Pepper. The family looked forward to the Salsa that
he was sure to prepare from his harvest. Jimmy loved taking walks in the park,
especially if he was rehoming an errant squirrel who happened to be interloping in his
previously mentioned garden.
Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, Lanis and Mildred Bell and sister Sheryl
Lankford and his beloved dog Misty. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Linda,
children, Steve German (Kathy), Cindy Lee (Mike), Eddie German and David Bell
(Paula Sue). Grandchildren, Steven German, Jason German, Amanda Veigil, Lucas
Robinson (Kylee), Megan Robinson, Michael Lee, Krystal Green (Max). One great-
grandchild, Calista. Brother Jerry Bell (Estelle) of Ore City, sister Colene Parks of
Burleson.
A Memorial Service will be held at Blessing Funeral Home on Friday, March 29th at 10
a.m.
