John Hugh Stolley (Jack) was born on April 27, 1933, and passed away on April 4, 2026. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, and his easy going and kind nature allowed him to make hundreds of friends easily throughout his lifetime.
Born in Davenport, Iowa as the oldest of 10 children, he served in the US Army during the Korean War and earned a degree in accounting from Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, after he completed his Army service. In 1975 he moved to Mansfield, Texas to continue an accounting job with Ametek Corporation. He worked there until his retirement in 1995. Jack was a resident of Mansfield for 51 years. Jack was an avid reader, especially books about WW II. He especially loved spending time with his family and taking an interest in all of his children’s and grandchildren’s lives and activities.
Jack is survived by his children Scott, Gregg, Mat, Kim (Bob), Chris, grandchildren Megan, Brady, and Brooks, and siblings Gary, Christie, and Debbie. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, his beloved Sandra. During those 68 years they rarely left each other’s side.
It is said that the greatest fear of dying is the fear of being forgotten. Jack Stolley’s legacy will be remembered for many years to come and he will be missed by many.
