Justin Cole Brown

Justin Cole Brown, 22, tragically passed away on August 13, 2023, while joy riding with his friends Noah Justice and surviving passenger, Nash Mosoba. They were doing what they loved- talking smack and joy riding in fast cars.

Cole was well known in the Alvarado community for his love, friendship, and as an athlete on both the football and baseball fields. He was smart, outgoing, and had a sense of being invincible that drove his mother crazy! Cole loved people. In the last year or two he picked up adult softball, where he played on multiple teams, even subbing for other teams. He loved his softball people-sometimes more than he loved being home.

Cole worked at Prairie Land Detention Center in Alvarado starting as a night time detention officer with one of his best buds, Weston. He soon began working as a detention officer during the day. He was well liked in Segregation and known for consistently doing good paperwork, his great handwriting and his precision on reports. When a position opened in the Maintenance Department, Cole made the move, even though he didn’t have a handy man bone in his body and could hardly take out the trash at home, and had never mowed or weeded until he joined the Maintenance Department.

Justin Cole Brown was preceded in death by his Great-Grandparents, Grandparents, John Brown and Billy and Cindi Harris.

He is survived by his parents, Wendy and Justin, his sister Jaycee, brother Tanner and wife Reagan and their son Kory and Nana Sandra Brown. He is also survived by his Aunt Shari and Uncle Billy Bankston, cousins Brody, Gracee and Kylee Bankston, Aunt Carissa and Uncle Jake Williams, cousins Rebecca and Evelyn Williams, Aunt Destiny and Uncle Scott Brown and cousins Makenzy and Hollis Brown, as well as, many Great-Aunts and Great-Uncles, numerous cousins, too many friends to count and the small town community of Alvarado, Texas.
