In Loving Memory of Katherine Valeria Suazo Contreras July 23, 2001 – July 1, 2026

With profound sadness and unwavering hope in Christ, we announce the passing of Katherine Valeria Suazo Contreras, who entered the presence of her Savior on July 1, 2026, at the age of 24, after a courageous four-year battle with a rare form of cancer.

Though her earthly life was far too short, her impact was immeasurable. She lived with a joy that could not be shaken by circumstances and a faith that remained steadfast through every trial. Even in the midst of unimaginable hardship, she trusted God's plan, clung to His promises, and reflected His love to everyone around her. Her life was a beautiful testimony that hope is found not in this world, but in Christ alone.

Born on July 23, 2001, she grew up in the Memphis area before moving to Dallas after graduating from high school, where she built a beautiful life filled with purpose, service, and love. In December 2024, she married the love of her life, Chris. Their marriage was a reflection of unwavering love, friendship, and a shared faith in the Lord. Together, they cherished every moment they were given.

Photography was more than her profession—it was one of the ways she reflected God's creativity. She had an extraordinary gift for preserving life's most meaningful moments, capturing every season of life with beauty, intention, and heart. From engagements and weddings to newborns, growing families, and celebrations, she documented memories that will be treasured for generations. Through her lens, she helped others hold on to the moments that matter most.

She also found immense joy in caring for children as a nanny. Her gentle spirit, patience, and genuine love made her a trusted caregiver and a bright light in the lives of the families she served. Children naturally gravitated toward her because they knew they were deeply loved.

She found peace in God's creation, especially among sunflower fields and the beauty of the outdoors. Whether she was behind the camera, spending time with loved ones, or simply enjoying a sunset, she embraced each day with gratitude. Her contagious laugh, warm smile, and joyful spirit had a way of making everyone around her feel seen, loved, and valued. She consistently put others before herself, always looking for ways to encourage, serve, and bring a smile to someone's face.

Throughout her cancer journey, she demonstrated remarkable courage, but even more remarkable was her unwavering faith. She never allowed her diagnosis to define her. Instead, she chose to trust the Lord through every appointment, every setback, every victory, and every unknown. She reminded those around her what it means to walk by faith and not by sight. Even as her body grew weaker, her spirit remained anchored in the promises of God.

"For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." — Romans 8:38–39

She is survived by her devoted husband, Chris; her loving parents; her brother; her sister; and her two beloved cats, who brought her endless comfort and companionship. She also leaves behind countless family members, dear friends, clients, and children whose lives were forever changed by her kindness, generosity, unwavering faith, and selfless love.

While our hearts ache with her absence, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. We know that she is no longer suffering but is perfectly healed, whole, and rejoicing in the presence of the One she faithfully loved and trusted throughout her life. The same Savior who walked with her through every step of her journey has now welcomed her home.

Her legacy lives on in the beautiful moments she captured, the laughter she shared, the children she loved, the lives she touched, and the faith she so faithfully lived. She showed us that a life is not measured by its length, but by the love given, the hope shared, and the faith that points others to Christ.

Though we grieve her absence, we celebrate a life beautifully lived for Christ. Her greatest desire was that others would know the hope she found in Jesus, and her testimony will continue to point hearts to Him for years to come.
