Ken and Nancy Jones

Grand Prairie

Ken and Nancy Jones, a beloved couple whose lives were intertwined in love and faith, passed from this world, leaving behind a cherished legacy of kindness, devotion, and laughter.

Kenneth Leslie Jones, born on July 13, 1939, in Oklahoma City to Cleo and Violet Jones, was a man who touched many lives. Growing up alongside his siblings, Laura Swan and Don Jones, Ken moved to Dallas where he would eventually earn his Masters degree from Southern Methodist University. A dedicated professional, he became a certified public accountant and operated his own CPA business, where his unparalleled expertise and integrity were appreciated by clients and colleagues alike.

On August 29, 1959, Ken married the love of his life, Nancy Warren. Together, they shared 63 wonderful years filled with love, support, and shared dreams. They welcomed their daughter, Jennifer Leigh Allen, into the world, and their family became the nucleus around which their lives revolved.

Ken had a passion for sports, both as a participant and a spectator. His college years were marked by competitive boxing, where he showcased his impressive record. However, Ken’s true character shone brightly through his kindness, his sense of humor, and his giving nature. A devout Christian, he dedicated much of his time to various church ministries, including the Bill Glass Behind the Walls prison ministry, and he was a tremendous source of positivity for everyone he encountered.

In his retirement and beyond, Ken found immense joy in spending time with his grandsons. He and Nancy made it a priority to move to a neighborhood that allowed them to fully engage in the lives of their grandchildren, attending all their sports activities and being present during their childhood. Ken had a special knack for nurturing relationships with the neighborhood kids, often taking them to church youth group events and pizza at CiCis.

Ken went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2020, leaving behind a rich tapestry of fond memories and a wide circle of friends and family who will forever hold his spirit in their hearts.

Following him was his devoted wife, Nancy Kay Jones, known to many as the neighborhood Nana, who entered eternal rest on January 2, 2026. Born on April 2, 1941, in Waco, Texas, to James and Clara Warren, Nancy was a loving presence to all, cherished as a wife, mother, and grandmother. With her sister, Margie, and brother, Edwin, she embodied warmth and comfort for her family.

Marrying Kenneth in 1959 solidified a partnership that thrived on mutual respect and unwavering support. A highly regarded member of their community in Irving, Texas, Nancy was a consummate caregiver who prayed daily for her friends and family. Her life was filled with fond memories - from blissful family vacations to heartfelt moments spent reading or collecting angels.

Nancy was especially proud of her grandsons, never missing a soccer or football game, and she fervently cheered them on as their number one fan. Her final wish was to attend both of their weddings, a wish that she was joyfully able to fulfill in December 2025.

A Celebration of Life for Kenneth and Nancy Jones will be held together on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Blessings Funeral Home in Mansfield, TX. Friends and family are invited to come and share in honoring the remarkable lives of this devoted couple, whose legacies of love and faith will continually inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know them.
