Lenard "Ray" Wood

March 14, 1936 — May 9, 2026

Ft Worth

Lenard "Ray" Wood, a devoted family man, steadfast businessman, and man of deep faith, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on March 14, 1936, in Sunkist, Oklahoma, Ray was the cherished son of Clara Mae and Calvin "Slick" Wood. He spent his formative years in Boswell, Oklahoma, where the foundations of his strong values and work ethic were laid.

Ray pursued higher education at Oklahoma A & M and Arlington State College, grounding himself with knowledge that would serve him well throughout his life. In 1955, he united in marriage with Faye Eastwood, sharing many cherished years until her passing. Later, in 1989, he found companionship and love once again, marrying Myrna Dowlen Mouser Wood, who stood by his side with unwavering devotion.

A lifelong worker and entrepreneur, Ray managed his businesses from the comfort of his home first in Oklahoma and later in Texas. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to his family, his church, and his passion for genealogy. These pillars were central to who he was—an emblem of faith, perseverance, and love.

Ray was a man of God whose spirit radiated kindness and generosity. He genuinely loved his family and was always ready to lend a hand to those in need. His legacy is carried forward by his beloved wife, Myrna; his son, Mark Wood, and daughter-in-law, Gayla; his daughter, Jerri Gail Wood Price, and son-in-law, Corey; and Shirlene Miller, along with her husband, Ed. He was the proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and the joyful great-grandfather to thirteen great-grandchildren.

Ray's loving nature extended beyond his immediate family to his siblings: Jim Wood and his wife Ann, Lela Schorr and her husband Cleve, and Alfred Wood and his wife Deborah, all of whom remember him with fondness and respect. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara Mae and Calvin "Slick" Wood, and his siblings Wayne Wood, Clyde Wood, and Ruby Smith.

Ray leaves behind a vast circle of relatives and friends whose lives he touched immensely through his warmth, wisdom, and spirit. His memory will forever inspire those who knew him to embrace faith, hard work, and above all, love.

Visitation in honor of Ray’s life will be held on May 21, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Blessing Funeral & Cremations, 401 Elm St, Mansfield, Texas.

A Celebration of Life will follow on May 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., continuing until 3:00 p.m. at the same location.

Lenard "Ray" Wood’s journey on earth may have ended, but the story of his enduring faith, love, and impact will forever resonate in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
