Born on March 18, 1932, in Mansfield, Texas, she was the cherished daughter of Clyde Madison Maxwell Sr. and Clara Bell Howard Maxwell. Marlene spent her formative years in the welcoming neighborhood of Retta, Texas, where her roots were firmly planted and cherished memories were made. A lifelong member of Retta Baptist Church, she found strength and community within its walls, sharing her faith with friends and neighbors alike.
A proud graduate of Mansfield High School, Marlene received her diploma in 1949 and furthered her education by attending Brantley-Draughon Business College, completing her studies in 1952. With a keen sense of professionalism and dedication, she embarked on a career as an Administrative Assistant, where she devoted over five decades of service. Marlene's work took her to notable places such as Kimbell’s Distributing, A. Brandt Company, and Hilton/Ramada Hotel, where her contributions made a lasting impact on her colleagues and clients alike.
In 1953, Marlene married Jack Rowe. Together, they created a nurturing home that reflected their commitment to family and friendship. Marlene and Jack were blessed with a daughter, Renay Rowe Levisay, who would honor their legacy through her own family. Renay, along with her husband Craig, continued the family tradition of love and togetherness. Marlene was not only a devoted mother but also a loving Granny to Clair Levisay and her fiancé, Zane Ahlfinger, as well as her nephew, Mack Maxwell. She enjoyed watching them grow and thrive, often showering them with affection and wisdom, building lasting memories that they will carry in their hearts.
Beyond her professional life and family commitments, Marlene was known for her vibrant spirit and warm, welcoming heart. She had a deep appreciation for Elvis Presley, often visiting Graceland with her friends, embodying the joy and enthusiasm that characterized her life. Marlene delighted in cooking, traveling, and shopping, embracing life with an unyielding passion that inspired those around her. Her generous nature and delightful sense of humor made her a beacon of joy in the lives she touched, always ready to uplift others with her unselfish demeanor and love for animals, especially dogs.
