Mary Lue Stewart, born Mary Lue Millsap, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, in Mansfield, Texas, at the age of 88.
Born on October 28, 1937, in Mulberry, Arkansas, Mary lived a life defined by love, strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was the cherished daughter of Leslie and Beulah Millsap and grew up in Mulberry, where she graduated from Pleasant View High School. During her school years, she was an active member of the basketball team, demonstrating the confidence, determination, and competitive spirit that would characterize her throughout her life.
Mary enjoyed a successful career as a business owner and contractor for more than 25 years. She was respected for her strong work ethic, resilience, and leadership. Through every challenge and accomplishment, she approached life with confidence and purpose.
Above all else, Mary's greatest joy was her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her world. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness knew no bounds. She was always there to offer support, encouragement, and a helping hand. Her family could always count on her unwavering love and steadfast presence.
On September 18, 1990, Mary married Jim Stewart. Together they shared a loving and devoted marriage until Jim's passing on August 24, 2016. Their home was a place of warmth, laughter, and hospitality, reflecting Mary's generous spirit and love for those around her.
Mary embraced life fully and enjoyed many hobbies throughout the years. In her younger days, she found great pleasure in golfing and horseback riding, pursuits that reflected her adventurous spirit and appreciation for the outdoors.
She is lovingly survived by her sons, Mark Peel and his wife, Karen, and Paul Peel; her brother, Paul Millsap and his wife, Linda; her grandchildren, Taylor Peel, Sydney Peel, and Andrea Cornelius and her husband, Sonny; her great-grandsons, Cohen Cornelius and Nixon Cornelius; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim Stewart; her twin daughters, Anna and Beulah Peel; her parents, Leslie and Beulah Millsap; and her sisters, Barbara Clark and Doris Millsap.
Mary's life was a beautiful example of unconditional love, generosity, and dedication to family. While her absence leaves a profound void, the legacy she leaves behind lives on in the countless lives she touched. Her memory will forever be treasured by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
May she rest in peace and may her light continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved her dearly.
