Melvadine Olevia Owens, 69, passed away on October 24, 2026, in Arlington, Texas. She was born on July 3, 1957, in Waxahachie, Texas, and carried with her throughout life the strength and warmth that marked her from the beginning.
Melvadine attended Waxahachie High School and continued her education with some college. She built a life of service and dedication through work that reflected both capability and compassion. For several years, she served as an EMT in Colorado, offering care and help to others in moments of need. After that, she went on to work at the main Dallas post office, where she devoted 32 years of steady service before retiring. Her long career spoke to her reliability, perseverance, and deep sense of responsibility to her fellow human.
She will be remembered as a very loving and caring woman with a huge heart. Her greatest accomplishment in life was being a mother and grandmother. Her world revolved around her family, who she always reminded how much they were loved. She was incredibly smart, and her beautiful smile left a lasting impression on all those who knew her. The kindness she gave, the love she shared, and the presence she brought into a room will remain cherished in the memories of family and friends.
Left behind to mourn her passing are her daughter, Amanda Owens, whom she lovingly called "Panda Bear"; her grandson, Kalan Owens, known to her as "Bubba"; her granddaughter, Raegan Thelwell, "Toot"; her nephews, Travis Owens "Nick" and Michael Owens; and her brother, Dennis Owens. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward Travis Owens and Isabel Evadine Owens; and her other brother, Edward Travis Owens.
As her loved ones remember Melvadine, they honor a life shaped by service, intelligence, compassion, and love. She will be dearly, dearly missed and fondly remembered.
