Ramona Kay Parker, affectionately known as Mona, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, in Mansfield, Texas. Born on March 11, 1961, in Ashland, Kentucky, Mona's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to her family and passions.
Mona was a loving and caring woman, known for her quick wit and joyful spirit that brightened the lives of those around her. Her humor and fun-loving nature made her the cherished heart of every gathering. She embraced the roles of devoted mother, sister, and grandmother with warmth and grace, truly embodying the best grandma anyone could wish for.
In 2003, Mona married Jay Parker, sharing many treasured years together until his passing. Their love for music was a defining aspect of their lives. She found immense joy in playing music with her family and with their band, Bluefield Express. Her talent extended beyond performance; she was also a gifted songwriter. Beyond music, Mona delighted in baking with her granddaughters, indulging in reading, and hosting family gatherings that echoed with laughter and love.
Mona is survived by her cherished daughter, Monica Moreno, and Monica’s husband Luis. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Carissa Rodriguez, Eliana Moreno, Alicia Moreno, and Anabella Moreno, who will carry forward her loving legacy. Mona is also mourned by her devoted sisters, Julie Richardson, Mary Svoboda, and Patricia Morrison, as well as her brother Ray Morrison. Numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends also remember her with fondness and respect.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Casey; her father, James Morrison; her brothers, Gene Morrison and Jim Morrison; and her husband, Jay Parker.
Ramona Kay Parker’s presence was a blessing to all who knew her. Her life’s melody, filled with love, music, and family, will continue to inspire and comfort those she leaves behind. Her spirit remains forever woven into the hearts of her loved ones.
