Rachel Alicia Torres was called home on June 30, 2024, in Venus, Texas surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 2, 1958 to her parents Santiago Jr. (Chago) and Yolanda Diaz. She met her husband Lionel Torres in San Diego and the two were married on January 14, 1977. They had two daughters: Debra and Marisa. She was born and raised in San Diego and later moved to her forever home in Venus, Texas. She worked at Buckaroo Ranch Daycare, she loved quilting, crafting and gardening, roses being her favorite flower. She loved listening to music and occasionally had her shouting match with the Alexa when the song wasn't quite right. She made friends easily and her door was always open to anyone, Toni Hughes become a member of the family in 1999 and since has been loved like a daughter. Rachel was loving wife, mother, sister, friend, neighbor and an amazing Nana. She loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her father Santiago Diaz.
Rachel is survived by her husband Lionel Torres; two daughters Debra (Abel) Galvan and Marisa (Justo) Villarreal; A God son raised as a son Justin (Christina) Simon; grandchildren Marcus and Sasha Galvan, Andrew Villarreal, Colby and Makayla Simon; her mother Yolanda Diaz; her siblings, two sisters Elda (Gilbert) Allen, Leila (Bobby) Perez and three brothers, Ricky (Anna) Diaz, Raul Diaz and Roland Diaz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rachel was so full of life and unbelievably strong and courageous. She is going to be truly missed by anyone who has ever known her.
