Rebecca M. Walters

April 12, 1946 — August 14, 2026

Mansfield

Rebecca M. Walters passed away on August 14, 2026, at Mansfield Methodist Hospital, Mansfield, TX after a short illness. Becky was born April 12, 1946, in Dover, Delaware to Calvin and Mildred Marvel. She was always the center of attention in a group, always had a strong opinion about anything, whether she knew anything about it or not, and had little patience for nonsense. Over the years, she has had several nicknames that were lovingly given to her mostly by family members, like Buck, when we moved to Texas, and Head B, which was give to her by employees of our company.

Becky grew up in Dover and graduated from Dover High School in 1964. In high school she was an excellent student and later used those skills that she was taught as an Administrative Assistant at International Playtex Corp. There she worked with several Department Managers and Senior Vice Presidents.

In early 1967, she met Kyle Walters, in a Dover Drug Store, who was in the Air Force at the time and they were married that December. Kyle was discharged from the Air Force in January 1968 and immediately went to work for Playtex. Both their sons were born in Delaware, Greg in 1969 and Chris in 1973. Playtex transferred Kyle to Camarillo, CA in 1977 and they stayed there until June 1991.

In 1990, Becky and Kyle decided to start their own business. Kyle had been president of a safe manufacturing company in California for 10 years and they decided to go into the safe business; specifically, the gun safe business. They started the business Granite Security Products, Inc. In 1991 they relocated from California to Texas and started manufacturing Granite Gun Safes, which became Winchester Safes. Becky played a key role in managing all administrative and sale's activities for the next 12 years.

At home she was the family matriarch. Her family was everything. She loved to cook and kept everyone in line; mostly the two boys, with a wooden spoon or a well place fingernail behind the ear. But thru it all she was most proud of being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She also had a compassion for animals. Our dog Kody and Gracie the cat miss their Mommy a lot.

Becky is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Kyle, sons Greg and his wife Teresa, Chris, and his wife Corrie, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Becky will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.
