Richard "Mack" McLoughlin’s journey began on a brisk November day in 1955, in the vibrant reaches of Queens, New York. He spent his childhood years in the city of Kings Park, New York. Over seventy memorable years, Richard’s life became a tapestry woven with strength, wit, and quiet devotion to the people he loved. On July 1, 2026, in the town of Mansfield, Texas, Richard passed from this world, leaving behind a myriad of memories now held dear by those who care for him.
Known affectionately as Mack, Richard was born to his mother Antoinette Tolino and his father—also named Richard McLoughlin—who both proceeded him in death. Their lessons and love shaped the man he would become, a reminder of roots that tied a boy from Queens to every chapter of his life. On January 31, 1974, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served his country until January 30, 1980. Richard's job aside from the military was a heavy equipment operator, which he dedicatedly did for over 40 years, travelling to different job sites in order to help where he was needed
Richard's personality had many layers, all of which made him the man he was. He could be very sarcastic, and even a bit grumpy, yet lovable at the same time. He loved researching on the internet, and was part of his neighborhood watch patrol, helping to keep his suburb safe. His interests included motorcycles, watching John Wayne movies, and keeping up with Nascar. Of all the hobbies he had, though, his favorite thing to do was spoil Jackie, whom he affectionately called his "princess". They took many cross-country motorcycle rides together with his riding buddies, and he cooked for her every day before and after work, without fail.
Among those who survive Richard, significant other Jackie Ferguson grieves his loss while cherishing the companionship and unwavering support they shared from June 2012 onward. For Jackie, and for others whose lives were touched by Richard, his legacy emits a steady glow: a model of dedication, quiet resilience, and simple joys. Richard’s passing is mourned deeply but also commemorated: not with silence, but with memory and the kind of gratitude owed only to those rare souls who leave the world a gentler place. Though he has passed on from this life, Richard and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
As the sun sets on one chapter and rises on the next, Richard "Mack" McLoughlin remains ever-present—a voice in shared stories, an unforgotten smile, and a legacy that endures in the hearts of those who knew him.
