Robert “Rob” Patrick Aiello, 53, of Midlothian, Texas passed away on January 13, 2026, after a courageous battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a rare form of blood cancer. He was born on July 25, 1972, in Middlesex, New Jersey, where he spent his formative years.
Rob attended South Plainfield High School in South Plainfield, NJ, where he developed a lifelong love for Star Wars, the New York Yankees, and the New York Giants. His passion for these interests made him the enthusiastic fan that he was, sharing his love for them with friends and family alike.
In 2023, Rob made the significant move to Texas, where he began working as a school bus driver for the Midlothian Independent School District. He found immense satisfaction in this role, believing he had discovered his true calling. Rob cherished the opportunity to be a positive influence on the children he safely transported to and from school, leaving a lasting imprint on their young lives.
His dedication to youth continued beyond his job; Rob was deeply committed to coaching Little League Baseball for his son’s teams and mentoring neighborhood friends. He had an infectious spirit that drew people in, and those lucky enough to know him left his presence with a smile. Rob’s light shone brightly, illuminating the lives of everyone around him.
Rob is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Lourdes “Angi” Aiello, and their son Nicolas, both of Midlothian, TX. He is also mourned by his mother, Roberta Aiello of Toms River, NJ; his sister, Maria Jankowski of Toms River, NJ; his brother, Richard Aiello, Jr. (Anna) of Raritan, NJ; and his sister, Michele King (Anthony) of Hoschton, GA. He leaves behind his Godson Christopher Aiello, nieces Julia Aiello, Rebecca Aiello, nephew Ryan King, and Goddaughter Megan King.
Rob’s legacy will endure through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and dedication to making a difference. His memory will be celebrated during a visitation on January 19, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service on January 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM, both held at 401 Elm St, Mansfield, TX.
