Robert Lewis Wood, aged 83, passed away February 15, 2024. He was born June 23rd, 1940 to Onie Massey and Clell Wood in Fort Worth, Texas.
Robert went to Pascal High School, there he played basketball, later playing at Texas Wesleyan University. It was in college that he found his love for golf. He slept, ate, and breathed golf. Robert went on to earn the Fort Worth City Golf Championship in 1963.
In the early months of 1966, through mutual friends, Robert and Margaret met on a blind date. They went on to wed November 5th, 1966. Robert and Margaret shared a loving 57 years together.
Robert was a great man. He was always there for anyone in need. He was a funny jokester, playing all sorts of pranks. Above all, he was a family man. He loved his wife and sons more than anything. Robert’s grandchildren were his absolute pride and joy.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents Clell and Onie Wood, and brothers James Wood and Clell Wood Jr.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, beloved wife Margaret Wood, sons; David Wood, John Wood and wife Laurie, James Wood and wife Andrea, grandchildren; Anderson, Paige, Parker, Xander, Caleb, Jonah, and Micah, and numerous extended family and friends.
