Ronald Edward Williams was born on January 11, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Noah and Anne Williams. He attended primary and secondary schools in the Pittsburgh area and graduated from Schenley High School in 1966. In October 1967, Ronald was drafted into the United States Army. During his 20 years of service, he traveled extensively, including a tour in Vietnam and retired honorably in October 1987. Throughout his military career, Ronald developed a strong skill set in food service, which he later carried into his civilian life.
After retiring from the Army, Ronald continued his food service career, managing departments in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and later within the Dallas Independent School District after relocating to Dallas, Texas.
In his retirement years, Ronald found joy and purpose living with his daughter, Jeanine, and caring for his beloved grandson, Christopher (affectionally called “Lil’ Dude”). He devoted his life to his "Lil' Dude," providing constant and unwavering support, and creating a loving environment for him until his death.
Despite facing numerous health challenges, Ronald endured them with strength, grace, and unwavering determination. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Anne Williams; two brothers, William Williams and Phillip Williams; two sisters, Patricia Parker and Dorothy Henderson; and daughter, Danielle Walker.
Ronald will be remembered for his remarkable ability to make others laugh with stories from his childhood and military days. His legacy is one of selfless devotion to family, a heart full of unconditional love, and a life lived with integrity and resilience.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sisters Nora Peacock of Pittsburgh, PA and Barbara Henderson-Jackson of Detroit, MI; daughter, Jeanine Hill of Mansfield, TX; grandsons Brandon Burney of Lake Charles, LA, Christopher Hill Jr. of Mansfield, TX, and Lewis Walker II of Houston, TX ; granddaughters Brittney and Brooke Denson of Houston, TX and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family, and friends.
As we celebrate his life and mourn his passing, may we continue to honor Ronald by cherishing family, embracing laughter, and living with love.
