Rose Peralta

Rose S. Peralta, formerly Sanchez, 78, of Mansfield, Texas, passed away on May 26, 2026.

Rose was born on January 6, 1948, and soon thereafter was welcomed into the loving home of Pedro and Petra Sanchez of San Antonio, Texas. She grew up in San Antonio, a place that remained an important part of who she was throughout her life. In October of 1975, she married Edward C. Peralta, and together they built a life and family that took them many places, including La Junta, Colorado; Big Spring, Texas; Kerrville, Texas; Aurora, Colorado; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Arlington, Texas; Ruidoso, New Mexico; and finally Mansfield, Texas.

More than anything, Rose was devoted to her family. She was the proud mother of Amy Gonzalez and her husband, Jose Gonzalez Sr.; Christopher Peralta and his wife, Christi; Jason Peralta and his wife, Rachel; and Katherine Peralta and her husband, Ivan. She was the loving grandmother of Leticia Gonzalez, Jose Gonzalez, Evan Peralta, Charlotte Peralta, Anabel Peralta, Sebastian Trevino, and Tristan Trevino. She showed her love clearly, fiercely, and without embarrassment. Her children and grandchildren knew where they stood with her, and they knew they were loved.

Rose was full of life. She had a great sense of humor, a strong will, and a toughness that made her unforgettable. She knew who she was and never tried to be more or less than herself. That honesty, that certainty, and that refusal to pretend made her someone people could not forget. She loved to travel and made a home wherever life took her family. She also showed love in the kitchen through homemade tortillas, beans and rice, and carne guisada that her family will always remember.

Rose’s life centered around the people she loved. She was deeply involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren, and she took great pride in them. Her loyalty to her family was one of her defining qualities. She loved through her words, through her actions, and through her constant presence. That same devotion extended to her beloved dogs, Austin and Jack, whom she spoiled without apology.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Petra Sanchez. She is survived by her husband, Edward C. Peralta; her four children and their spouses; and her seven grandchildren.

Rose will be remembered for her humor, strength, loyalty, fierce love, and cooking; for making people laugh, speaking her mind, and bringing unmistakable energy wherever she went. She leaves behind a family who loved her dearly and who will carry her with them always.

A Funeral Mass, burial and banquet will be held on August 1, 2026.

In Rose’s memory, her family encourages those who loved her to care for themselves and one another with the same loyalty and love she gave so freely.
