Sandra G. Werley, beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on November 7, 1938, in Berea, Kentucky, Sandra’s life was a tapestry woven with love, faith, and unwavering dedication to her family and her calling.
From her earliest years in Berea, Kentucky, Sandra embodied warmth and kindness, qualities that would become the signature of her presence in every community she graced. The daughter of Ruby and Buck Payne, whose memories she carried tenderly throughout her life, Sandra was grounded by her family values and inspired by a life of purpose.
Sandra’s professional journey saw her make her mark as an underwriter in the insurance business, where her steadfast work ethic and thoughtful approach earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients. Yet, it was within the company of those dearest to her that Sandra found her greatest joy and fulfillment. To her, there was no higher calling than being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—a role she embodied with endless patience, boundless affection, and a gentle strength that anchored her family through seasons of celebration and challenge alike.
Her home was a sanctuary of familial love and unwavering faith. Sandra was known to all as a faithful Christian and servant of the Lord—a strong prayer warrior whose convictions illuminated her days and quietly inspired those around her. Her acts of kindness, her loving nature, her relentless faith in Jesus, and her Christ-centered spirit remain indelibly etched in the hearts of those blessed to know her. She was a one of the kindest, warmest women you could ever have the pleasure of knowing.
Sandra is remembered lovingly by her dearest husband, Lenord Werley, who she married in 1982. Together, they had eight children: Vicki McConnell, Mike Bazzell, Traci Miller, Kitti Weller, Jeff Price, Kelli Blackwell, Shane Werley, and Davis Bazzell, all who are left behind to mourn her passing. She is also survived by her thirteen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. Each one carries forward the lessons of compassion, faith, and resilience that Sandra imparted, and her spirit will continue to guide and nurture them through the years.
She is preceded in passing by her dear parents, Ruby and Buck Payne, whose love paved the way for the remarkable woman Sandra became.
