In Loving Memory of Steven Adrian Ballard

Steven Adrian Ballard, lovingly known as Steve, age 71, passed away on August 26, 2026. He was born on September 14, 1954, in Amarillo, Texas, to Johnnye and Floyd Adrian Ballard.

Steve was raised in Fort Worth, Texas, where he graduated from O.D. Wyatt High School in 1973. He shared 52 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Michelene Ballard. Together, they built a life filled with family, hard work, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Steve dedicated 47 years to the construction industry. He began his career as a carpenter and, through his knowledge, dedication, and strong work ethic, became a respected commercial construction superintendent. He took great pride in his work and was known for his commitment to doing every job well.

Family was at the heart of Steve’s life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Michelene Ballard; his oldest son, Steven Jason Ballard and his wife, Kristen; their children, Walker and his wife, Aubrey, and Lucy; and his youngest son, Jeffery Ryan Ballard and his wife, Deasha, along with their children, Aizlyn and Drayk.

He is also survived by his brother, Michael Ballard and his wife, Misty; his sister, Penny Bivens and her husband, Lynn; his brother-in-law, Gary Braudaway; his sister-in-law, Donna Plunkett and her husband, Burt; his brother-in-law, Michael Braudaway and his wife, Pam; and his brother-in-law, David Braudaway and his wife, Debbie. Steve also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Steve found joy in the simple things in life. He loved showing chickens, taking long drives through the countryside, bird watching, and watching sports with his family. Above all, he especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in their sports and activities. Those moments brought him tremendous pride and happiness.

Steve was a man of integrity, strong character, and an unwavering work ethic. He was patient, funny, ornery, and at times, wonderfully cantankerous. He was known for pestering his family and friends in his own unmistakable way, and those who knew him best never had to wonder how much he loved them. His humor, unique personality, and the special way he cared for those around him will be deeply missed.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnye and Floyd Adrian Ballard, and his parents-in-law, C.A. and Jean Braudaway.

Steve leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, hard work, and devotion to family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, and his memory will forever live on in the many lives he touched.
