Steven Ray Cook

August 23, 1974 — November 28, 2022

Steven Ray Cook, 48, of Mansfield, was received into the hands of God, Monday
November 28 th , 2022 with his loving Family by his side. He was born in Fort
Worth on August 23, 1974, the youngest child of Terry and Mary Cook. Steven lived in
Mansfield most of his life and graduated from Mansfield High School before attending
Texas State Technical College. He was employed as a Project Manager for the City
of Mansfield before his recent retirement, dedicating over 20 years of loyal service
to the City.

To know Steven was to love him. He had a unique sense of humor and loved to
make people laugh. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was
well known for his great, Big bear hugs. He had a special place in his heart for his
children and actively participated in their FFA activities, a past-time he himself
enjoyed in High School and continued to support through his involvement in the
Future Farmers of America-Mansfield Alumni Association.  Steven was a hard
worker and a man of strong character. To be a part of Steven’s life meant you had
a protector and someone you could depend on. It wasn’t uncommon to see Steven
around town offering a helping hand when needed. He enjoyed being outdoors
and especially enjoyed attending rodeos, hunting on his deer lease and rooting for
his Dallas Cowboys.

This past November 11th , Steven celebrated 11 years of marriage to his best friend
and sidekick, Shelly.  Together they joined their two families and made their house
a home. He was a supportive husband and often traveled with Shelly helping her
with her business.  He was a loving father, grandfather, son, and brother who
will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.

Steven was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Allen Cook, Jr; his paternal
grandparents, F.M. and Doris Cook, maternal grandfather, R.J. Kimble and his
wife, Lois, and paternal grandmother, Evelyn Copeland and her husband Cotton.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Shelly Cook, his parents
Terry Allen Cook, Sr. and Mary Lee Kimble Cook; his children Natalee, Abbee,
Nicole, Dakota, Irelyn and Phoenix; grandchildren, Kyndall, Kynlee, and Kaedyn;
and, brother, David Cook and his wife Tonya, their children, Stefan, Blake,
Cecilee, and Christian, and grandchildren, Mackelyn, Tripp, Bellamy, and Hattie.
