Sue Nessler

May 1, 1943 — May 8, 2025

Melva Sue Nessler, lovingly known as Sue, passed away on May 8, 2025, leaving a legacy of love, strength, and faith that will endure in the hearts of all who knew her. Born on May 1, 1943, in Fort Worth, TX, she was the cherished daughter of Raymond and Evelyn Newsom (both deceased). Sue’s childhood was filled with unforgettable memories, where she often spoke of riding her beloved horse, Tony, and playing joyfully with her cousins.

Sue's early faith was a cornerstone of her life. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized many years ago, solidifying her commitment to her faith. She completed her education at Mansfield schools, graduating high school from Mansfield High School, where her spirited personality began to shine.

On November 4, 1960, Sue embraced a new chapter in her life, marrying her high school sweetheart, Ben Nessler. Their love story blossomed over the years, a beautiful testament to partnership and devotion, until his passing on May 5, 2001. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Kerry Nessler, Brian Nessler, and Tara Walton, who remain a testament to their loving partnership.

Sue’s greatest accomplishments are undoubtedly the loving family she nurtured. Her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren: Brent Nessler, Julie Schiffel, Sara Hafeez, Shayan Hafeez, and Shaan Hafeez. Adding to her happiness, Sue welcomed a great granddaughter, Mia Schiffel, who brought endless joy to her life.

Although Sue briefly worked as a Dental Assistant, she devoted most of her life to being a homemaker and a caring “Mom.” Her strong-willed and independent nature was complemented by her kind heart. Music filled her home, with a particular fondness for the songs of Neil Diamond and Elvis, echoing through her days and creating countless cherished moments.

Through all of life’s ups and downs, Sue drew strength from her faith, often reciting the comforting words of Psalm 23, a passage that epitomized her belief in divine guidance and love.

Sue's memory will be honored with a graveside service on May 17, 2025, at Rehoboth Cemetery in Arlington, TX, beginning at 2:00 PM. Though she is no longer with us, the love and lessons she imparted will resonate within her family and friends forever. We celebrate Sue’s beautiful life, remembering her for the light she brought into the world and the love she shared with all those fortunate enough to know her.
