William "Bill" Ralph Adams

July 14, 1947 — April 6, 2024

William “Bill” Ralph Adams, aged 76, went home to be with the Lord on April 6th, 2024. Growing up in Whitesburg, KY, Bill’s career in the soil conservation service took him across the country to Virginia, Tennessee, and Colorado before settling in Mansfield, Texas. His 42 years of service saw a great change in agriculture, initially working directly with farmers as a conservationist, working to modernize resource management. Bill ended his career in project management, still focused on improving the livelihoods of people through conservation.

Bill focused on service to others throughout his life. As a youth, he earned his Boy Scout Eagle Award, and served as Scout Master to several troops. Bill touched hundreds of people, conducting classes on Ham Radio, working on community safety and disaster preparedness, and mentoring local high school teams on communications. He was a member of the Mansfield Ham Radio Club.

Bill’s faith in the Lord began in his boyhood, professing his faith at the age of ten. As an adult, he rededicated his life while in Tennessee. He served as a Gideon, spreading the word of Christ. As he moved across the country, he remained active in church life, serving as a deacon and leading Sunday school classes in Colorado and Texas. His Friday morning prayer group was a source of strength through the years, offering fellowship and friendship. We are comforted to know that we will see him again in that sweet by and by.

Bill was the best father and Pappaw that could ever be imagined. His impact on his family, friends, and community will endure long after he has departed.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents Shade and Marjorie Stamper Adams, brother Curtis Shade Adams, and first wife Georgetta Humphrey Adams.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory wife Emma Brown Adams, children; Jeff Hawkins (Laura), Sarah Marcel (Des), Pam Weisenhorn, Will Adams (Diane), and Ashley Godawski (Joe), eleven grandchildren, sister Nancy Blair (Wade), and numerous extended family and friends.
